Two new members appointed to Laurel Lake Board of Directors

August 25, 2010 -- Laurel Lake Retirement Community, a not-for-profit continuing care retirement community located in Hudson, Ohio, is pleased to announce the appointment of two new members to its Board of Directors.  

 

Kenneth B. Bell, CPA is a founding Partner of D'Amore Tatman Group, LLC, a professional tax and accounting firm in Beachwood, Ohio. Mr. Bell leads the firm's auditing and accounting practice. He graduated from Cleveland State University with a Bachelor of Business degree in Accounting and is a licensed Certified Public Accountant.

 

Mr. Bell is an active member the Ohio Society of Certified Public Accountants; The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants; the Mentor Chamber of Commerce; the Beachwood Chamber of Commerce; and the Mentor Schools Citizen's Financial Advisory Board.

 

Mr. Bell resides in Mentor, Ohio and enjoys coaching youth sports for his four children. His civic involvement includes board membership with the Mentor Youth Football Association, the Great Lakes Baseball League and the Mentor Baseball League where he currently holds positions as Treasurer and Trustee. He also is an active member of the Boosters at Lake Catholic High School.

 

Nancy A. Istenes, DO, CMD currently serves as Medical Director for Long-Term and Transitional Care Services for Summa Health System, and for Summa HomeCare. She was Laurel Lake's Medical Director from 2003-2009. She is on the teaching faculty of both the Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine and Ohio Universities College of Osteopathic Medicine.

 

Dr. Istenes completed her undergraduate degree at Washington and Jefferson College in Washington, PA, attended medical school at The Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and is board certified in Internal Medicine, Geriatric Medicine and Hospice and Palliative Care. Upon completing her Geriatric Medicine Fellowship at The Cleveland Clinic, Dr. Istenes joined Summit County Geriatricians in Akron and began practice in 2002. She is a Certified Medical Director for Long-Term Care and an active member of The American Medical Directors Association. She was named one of the "Best Doctors in America" for 2009-2010 by Cleveland Magazine and Akron Life & Leisure.

 

Dr. Istenes resides in the Akron area and enjoys community involvement with Grace Church in Bath Ohio and Stan Hywet Hall and Gardens.
