Starting Salary:  $51,180.00 - $76,769.00

(*This is based on 2080 hours.)

 

SUMMARY OF JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Foundation Development Specialist, under the supervision of the C.E.O. of Laurel Lake Retirement Community, provides strategic leadership in the overall administration, fundraising communications, personnel and Foundation Board relations to support the purpose, values and goals of the Laurel Lake Retirement Community Foundation.

QUALIFICATIONS

 

EXPERIENCE:

  • Preferred experience and a successful track record of accomplishments and fund-raising abilities.

 

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS: 

  • Consensus building talents to establish positive working relationships with staff, volunteers and board. . 
  • Proven organizational skills with measurable follow through ability.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.   
  • Excellent judgement, strong interpersonal and communication skills utilizing a collaborative team approach. 
  • Exhibits integrity, respect and regard for others in all situations including donors, based on the Code of Ethical Principles held by the Association of Fund Raising Professionals (AFP).

 

PRINCIPAL JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES:

1. Identifies, educates, cultivates prospects and recognizes existing and potential donors within Laurel Lake and the greater community.

2. Facilitates development and growth of Foundation Funds through annual giving programs, planned giving and capital campaign activities including the identification, education, cultivation, and recognition of existing and potential donors.

3. Formulate and recommend comprehensive annual and long-range development plans including budget projections and fund-raising goals under the direction of the President and the Foundation Board of Directors.

4. Acquire and develop Foundation vendors.

5. Review monthly gift and deposit reconciliation report to accounting. 

6. Contribute to committee meeting and Board meeting agendas.

7. Assist staff with grant writing and proactively notifies management of potential grant opportunities for the funding of various operating expenses. Direct grants administration process with foundation and corporate donors including research, proposal development and reporting procedures.

8. Produce all collateral materials, publications, website and promotional activities to secure funds and to support the goals and objectives of the Laurel Lake Foundation.

9. Maintains an effective management information system of records pertinent to the foundation including appropriate interactions with accounting staff.

10. Participates in appropriate committees within Laurel Lake and the greater community to collaborate on matters affecting the Foundation and/or fundraising.

11. Prepares the bi-annual Foundation newsletter and Annual Report. Prepare periodic reports to management, boards and committees, including the financial and program activities of the Foundation.

10. Support the Development Activities (i.e. daily, monthly, bi-annual, annual)

11. Other duties as assigned by the C.E.O. of Laurel Lake Retirement Community.
