Housekeeping Coordinator / Full time / Exempt

Starting Salary:  $35,657.00 - $53,485.00

 

(* Based on 2080 hours per year)

 

Housekeeping Coordinator - $2500.00 Sign on Bonus (FT)

 

(*Sign on Bonus Eligibility is based on your status at time of hire.  Status must be that of full time, working at least 40 hours per week. All sign-on bonuses are prorated and paid over 5 quarters.)

 

SUMMARY OF JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Coordinates and supervises all aspects of Independent Living and the Crown Center department including: the quality and quantity of work, commitment to serving the residents and staff, coordinating schedules and ordering of supplies and equipment within the budget guidelines.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

EDUCATION:

  1. High School Graduate
  2. Vocational school or college degree preferred.

 

EXPERIENCE:

1.   Minimum two years supervisory experience in healthcare, housekeeping, janitorial or hospitality field.

 

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

  1. Microsoft Word and basic computer skills
  2. Proven track record supervising large groups of employees
  3. Excellent communication skills, must be able to demonstrate effective reading, writing, speaking and analytical skills. 
  4. Must be able to work all shifts, holidays and weekends as needed.
  5. Must be able to interface with people at all levels in a positive and professional manner.
  6. Must be able to lift and carry a maximum of 35 lbs.
  7. Ability to push equipment on wheels weighing a maximum of 50 lbs

 

PRINCIPAL JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Interview and hire all Independent and Crown Center Housekeeping/Floor Care staff.
  • Ensure staff receives proper orientation, initial training and ongoing education.
  • Perform quality assurance functions and provide on-going training and supervision for staff to maintain all aspects of assigned areas, help staff in identifying improvement opportunities, teamwork and value based behavior.
  • Conduct disciplinary action with staff and complete all evaluations with guidance and approval of the Director
  • Relate and communicate with staff and residents concerning the Housekeeping needs of Laurel Lake.
  • Coordinate and revise daily schedules of all Housekeeping/Floor Care staff including specialty cleans/new admissions and new move-ins.
  • Fill in for line staff on an as needed basis.
  • Attend and participate in required meetings, focus groups, quality assurance programs, state surveys, departmental meetings and all other meetings required to perform duties.
  • Adhere to attendance policies and must be able to work weekends and overtime when required.
  • Purchase, receive and monitor supplies, compile checkbook, process invoices and complete inventories as  needed while staying within budget.
